Humpday Dumpday !

June 6, 1944:  In the largest seaborne invasion in history, known as D-Day, over 120,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, in German-occupied France. Countless troops were killed, maimed and injured in this horrendous fight for the freedom of Europe and the world. This is the reason that we are able to live free in the greatest country in the world, to be able to agree with what you like and to protest against what you don't like. You can speak the language that you desire and become a citizen. Take time to remember the troops that allowed you to do this.

Today is hump day and I'm going to Krystel's to dispell myths, allay fears and solve world problems, while maintaining the sanctity and integrity of AREA 51, and possible have a cocktail.

Oback Alabama, according to AOL News, while speaking in front of a group of approximately 8,000, said that President Bush and the government has done nothing to defuse a "quiet riot" among disenfranchised Blacks that threaten to erupt just as the riots did in Los Angeles fifteen years ago. The accompanying poll response was that, 57% thought the remarks were "off base", 27% were '"on target", and 14% were "not sure". I know who the 57% are, I'm pretty sure who the 27% are and the 14% are Duh-tu-duhs. Atta boy, pal, as a presidential wannabe, its good that you set examples and promote peace and harmony among people. You 'da man !

Odds and Ends: Paris Hilton is still in jail, Lindsey Lohan's still in rehab and Brittany's cat has not exposed itself lately. Oh, and Howard Stern, Howard K. Stern, O.J. Simpson, Larry "da judge" Seidlin, Debra Opri and "TB Man" are still perennial C.A.T. nominees.

The Pictures: A few that I gathered from National Geographic and then there are "the others".

This Date In History: 1925; Under Walter P. Chrysler, a former General Motors executive, the Maxwell Motor Corporation becomes Chrysler Corporation. 1944; Allied troops invade Normandy in German-occupied France in the invasion of Europe.

Birthdays: Diego Velazquez, painter (1599), Thomas Mann, novelist and short-story writer (1901), Bjorn Borg, five consecutive time Wimbledon tennis champion (1956).

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: STATE MOTTOS -  PART II

Missouri: Your Federal flood relief tax dollars at work. Montana: Land of the Big Sky, the Unabomber, right wing crazies and honest elections. Nebraska: Ask us about our state motto contest. Nevada: Hookers and Poker. New Hampshire: After our presidential primary, go away and leave us alone. New Jersey: I got yer &#%! state motto right here ! New Mexico: We're not old Mexico and coyotes make good pets. New York: You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney. North Carolina: Tobacco is a vegetable. North Dakota: We really are one of the 50 states inserted here to prevent Canada from leaking into the United States. Ohio: At least we're not Pensylvania. Oklahoma: Like the play but without the singing.

That's it for today my little tweety birds. More State Mottos tomorrow. See you tonight at Krystel's.

Stay Tuned !
