Never Forget !

I watched a program last night about the 9-11-01 tragedy showing excerpts and pictures together with interviews with some of the survivors. I didn't want to watch; I've seen it before, but I felt it was my duty to keep the memory alive of the innocent people who died.

The saving grace for the lives of potentially thousands more victims was that the attacks began before 9am and most workers were still en route to work.

I was compelled to watch the planes crash into the buildings again and the fear and chaos on the faces of people in the streets who were slowly beginning to realize what was happening.

I watched people on the higher floors who were trapped and had to make the difficult decision of whether to die in the smoke and blazing fire or to jump to their deaths. I watched both buildings crumble and fall.

Firefighters, police and other rescue people who helped during the tragedy still suffer from breathing the toxic fumes during the tragedy and some are just beginning to be afflicted with sicknesses caused by the same toxic fumes.

We know who the perpetrators were! The same people continue to spread terror through out the world and especially Europe. The same people who cry out "Death To America" daily.

I predict there will come a day where innocent people will stand and cry out "enough" and major cities will be wiped off the map to show we mean business.

Still, there will always be a place in my heart for the victims and the fire fighters, police and other rescuer who ran towards the fallen buildings to aid in the rescue of fellow Americans.

It is this date in history, now 17 years ago, that we remember and pray for the victims, rescuers and their families.

God Bless America!
