Salutations ! I have once again returned from AREA 51 at Krystel's Restaurant and Nightclub, alive, well, and unscathed. The inmates were well behaved (moi aussi), and in a festive mood. There was a party of about 45 people, mostly women, and for some unknown reason, red and maroon were the dominant colors of wear. As it turned out, I was wearing a maroon shirt with a grey suede jacket, which allowed me to browse the group close up without being smited. See, even a blind squirrel can find an acorn now and then.
Roll call revealed the following attendees, in no specific order, Hector and Lourdes, Vegita, Ginnie, Mario, Emilio and Melina, my pal Pepe (long time,no see), Jorge, Robert, Red Truck Man, SR the Golfer (and inventor of golf a go-go), Marcia, Maritza (well recovered from her birthday last Friday), Larry, Rhodie, and last but not least, "Bro" and "Baby" (who are the names of the people I know, but can never recall their names).
We do not have a winner for this week's C.A.T. award, although the "Paris saga" was close. I was eyeing Judge Michael Sauer for a bit, noting that his aggressive behavior began to remind me of former C.A.T. winner, Larry "da judge" Seidlin.
The Pictures: I really like the animal cracker picture, which is the first one. As always, a picture for Indigo and well, you know.....
This Date In History: 1870; British novelist, Charles Dickens, dies of a stroke at age 86. 1973; Secretariat becomes the first horse to win the Triple Crown in 25 years when he wins the Belmont Stakes in record time by an astounding 31 lengths. 1978; The Boston Celtics draft Larry Bird with the sixth pick of the NBA draft.
Here's Diana Krall, performing "Almost Blue".
Our friend, (A) Debra Opri, said of former client Larry Birkhead, "he's obsessed with me" refering to Birkhead's current suit against her. I think he's "obsessed" with the $650k Opri has in her bank account, that Birkhead says is his !
Birthdays: Peter the Great, Russian Tsar (1672), George Stephenson, locomotive (choo choo train) inventor (1781), Elizbeth Garrett Anderson, first British woman physician (1836), Cole Porter, songwriter (1891).
They're running the Belmont Stakes today, the final leg of horse racing's Triple Crown. Curlin is the odds-on favorite after his convincing win in the Preakness, but I'm saddened that they withdrew Street Sense, the Kentucky Derby winner and runner-up to Curlin in the Preakness. I realize the financial implications of the withdrawal (Stud syndication) but it kinda takes away from the idea of the sport. It would have been an interesting race. 8:05 p.m. Rags To Riches, the filly, won by a nose over Curlin. What a race, what a gal ! First filly to win the Belmont Stakes since 1905.
The Hits Just Keep On Coming:
President Bill Clinton and wife, Hillary, were at the New York Yankee season opener, sitting in the front row. A secret service agent whispers something in the President's ear and he shakes his head, no. The agent then says, "But Sir, it's a unanimous request from the entire team, from the owner down to the bat boy." The President shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well if that's what the people want."
With that, Bill gets up, grabs Hillary by her collar and seat of the pants and tosses her over the wall. The crowd goes wild, cheering and high fiving. Bill bows, smiles and waves at the crowd.
He says to the agent, "How about that ! I would have never believe how much everyone enjoyed that." Noticing the agent has gone totally pale, he asks what is wrong. The agent replies, "Mr. President, I said they wanted you to throw out the first PITCH !"
That's it for today, my little chickadees (Oh, now you're stealing from W.C. Fields? Shut up !). More tomorrow.
Stay Tuned !

Glad you had a good time at Krystals. The pictures were awesome! Loved the hits with Bill Clinton, I'm with him on that one pitch Hillary overboard; She tends to be a little full of herself. I happen to love the color Maroon, it's right up there with Dk. Blue (Indigo) in my book lol! (Hugs) Indigo
