Friday Arrives Right On Schedule !

Friday's happy hour time and this Friday's no different, so I'm heading over to Lakes Cafe and Pub and see some of the AREA 51 inhabitants. They've already begun the new renovations and I'm anxious to see their progress. Thay have Karaoke on Friday and they've really had some excellent singers there. If they're as good as last  week's  performers, it oughta be good ! I'll let you know.

I've noticed lately when I open email or read other journals and blogs, the LOL factor's running rampant. For the few of you that don't speak computer, LOL is "laughing out loud'. The original intent was to show that you were amused by something you read. But lately it just seems to be a tag at the end of a sentence, ad nauseum. I fear that soon, the newbees will just use it to death. I can see it now...."My brother broke his arm yesterday, LOL"

I've invented a few of my own, to wit: LAISMP (laughing and I shit my pants), LAY (Laughing at you), SNARF (it's really not an acronym, it's a person that's built so low to the ground that when he farts, he gets sand in his shoes), and finally, FUGLY (that one, my little sleuths, you'll have to figure out on your own). Post Script: (thanks to Julie) BCTMN (Blowing coffee through my nose). LOL !

My deepest sympathies, prayers and well wishes go out to the victims and families of the bridge collapse in Minnesota. I'm also very proud of the citizens for their heroic efforts in attending and comforting the injured and their families.

The Pictures: Add a letter, change a letter.... you'll see ! Mostly puns jokes and oddities which more or less mirror my thoughts right now. It's different, I hope you like them. Post Post Script: Don't worry, Nancy, everythings fine in Cincinnati.

This Date In History: 1492; Three ship commanded by Christopher Columbus depart from Palos de la Frontera, Spain on the voyage that leads to the European discovery of the New World. 1829; William Tell, the final opera of composer Gioacchino Rossini, has it's premiere in Paris, France. 1936; American sprinter Jesse Owens wins the first of his four medals in the Olympic Games in Berlin, Germany.

Birthdays: Stanley Baldwin, British prime minister (1867), Elisha Graves Otis, elevator inventor (1811), Lance Alworth, professional football wide receiver (1940).

The Hits Just Keep On Coming:

My wife and I had words, but I didn't get used to mine. Frustration is looking for your glasses without your glasses. The irony of life is that by the time you get old enough to know your way around, you can't remember where you're going. God made man before woman so as to give him time to think of an answer to her first question. I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.

That's it for today, my little chicklets. A special hello to my perfect martini ! More tomorrow.

Stay Tuned !

Among the dealers on a board we go to to discuss antiques and collectibles a fugly is a very ugly piece of pottery that you can actually sale, thus a beautiful thing.  Now I will never be able to write LOL again, LOL.  Whoops, I mean ha ha.  Giggle, snort, blowing coffee through my nose.  Thanks Jimmy.  Have a great Friday and have a drink for me.

Ahh the LOL factor......I admit some of my original post I went rampant with it. Then Doc said to me one night people are going to think your off kilter. Why? Because your laughing way more than normal here. To date, I might use it here and there in comments , but the general rule is I try to keep it out of my entries. Loved the hits-Can't tell you how hard it is to find your glasses without your glasses. It's an early morn. thing. I'm a die hard for contact lenses. (Hugs) Indigo

I know what fugly is.  Do you about FUBAR?  I once saw a license plate that actually said that. (wish I had that one) LAIPMP is more in sinc with females. Anne
