A Fantastic Thursday And Good Friday !

Thursday evening turned out to be very good much to my surprise. As you know, after the past two weeks of playing "The Price Is Right" (I miss Bob Barker) with "Betsy" (my car, so don't go there), I was content to spend a quiet, boring (but safe) evening at home. Lo and behold, out of the blue, my sweet Nicole calls and, like myself, had a trying week and wanted to go out. Eureka !

So, I hit the shower and dressed. Since Nicole was coming to my house, I also had to do a quick house clean-up because as a bachelor, I'm not Jimmy-on-the spot for minor details. Of course, Shithead (my cat) doesn't really give a hoot either as long as there's food, water and a litterbox in that order. I finished tidying up about five minutes before Nicole arrived.

We went to a restaurant called The Alibi, which is the old Krystel's Restaurant and Lounge. It was great... We ran into Dr. Marc, Rosie and little Danny, who were having dinner. It was also good to see my pal and bartender, Guillermo, as well as Fermin, the percussionist for my friends, K.C. and the Sunshine Band. I ran into a few more people I know, but as you know Old Timer's disease does not allow me the luxury of remembering everyone's name and most times I am reduced to "Brother" or "Baby" as a moniker. So to my pal, Dr. "Brother" and a lovely young lass I affectionately call "Baby", I do apologize.

We left The Alibi and headed over to the Billiards Club where my pal, James, is the ever attentive and excellent bartender. Once again, I ran into friends including my pals, Arthur, Frankie (who owns an Italian restaurant) and Miguel, who I've known since he was ten years old (and who also gave me a jump start for my car when it expired). After chatting with friends and a couple of cocktails, we decided to call it a night and went home. Sometimes, things just having a way of falling into place and 'ya just have a good time !

Well, T.G.I.F. and today is Good Friday. I think it should be called "Great Friday" as all Fridays are good. With renewed energy and zest, I go refreshed into my favorite day of the week, where it is my intention to go to AREA 51 at Lakes Cafe. I say it is my intent because I really never know exactly where I'll end up when I go out, but tentatively, it'll be Lakes Cafe to see my pals, resolve world problems and possibly sing a song or two (unless I get another mystery phone call).

This week's CAT award is still up for grabs as we have had no nominations thus far. It is not necessary that we have a winner every week as some weeks, many of the deserving lowlifes go underground. But if someone comes to mind and 'ya feel the need to nominate, then go for it. Keep in mind you have until Monday at noon to make a nomination.

The Pictures: My pal Linda in Washington State sent me some new  "awww" photographs which I will be sharing with you along with "the usual suspects".

Birthdays: Johann Sebastian Bach, German composer (1685), Benito Juarez, president of Mexico (1806), Peter Brooke, stage and film director (1925).

The Hits Just Keep On Coming:

My thanks to all  those who have sent me emails this past year.......

I must send my special thanks to whoever sent me the one about rat crap in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet towel with every envelope that needs sealing.

Also, I now have to  scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason.

I no longer have any  savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time.

I no longer have any  money at all, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill  Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.

Or from the senior bank clerk in Nigeria who wants to split $7 million with me for pretending to be a long lost relative of  a customer who died intestate.

I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has granted my every wish.

I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.

Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward e-mails to seven  of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.

Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca-Cola because it can remove toilet stains.

I no longer can buy gas without taking a man along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat while I'm filling up.

I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.

I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a  phone bill with calls to Jamaica, Uganda, Singapore and Uzbekistan.

Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my ass.

And thanks to your  great advice, I can't even pick up the $5.00 I found under the car as there is probablya sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg.

I know now that if I don't send an e-mail I received today to at least 144,000 people in the next 7 minutes, a large pigeon with diarrhea will land on my head at 5:00 pm this afternoon and the fleas from 12 camels will infest my sister.

I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's gay beautician.

And, by the way, a South American scientist, after a  lengthy study, has discovered that people with low IQ who have infrequent sexual activity always read their e-mails with their hand on the mouse. Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late.

That's it for today my little chocolate bunnies. Have a great Easter, a marvelous and safe weekend, and more on Monday.

Stay Tuned !

Sounds like a great night, Jimmy. Pardon my ignorance (I'll claim Old Timer's, too), but I seem to recall that you've written that Nicole is your daughter? She's very pretty! Glad you had such a nice time.

While I was almost violently anti-disco back in the day, I have mellowed with age, and I have to admit that I love KC and the Sunshine Band, and I always did. Harry Wayne Casey--he was a doll in the '70's!

Have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter.

GOSH, it's good to read you again. I just got back from taking a grandchild to San Diego and the ZOO and (never again) Sea World.  My feet are killing me.  My nerves are frayed. I took all of the grandkids to the mall today and took duck tape stripes with me, inside my shirt. I threatened to duct tape their sweet little mouths shut IF they misbehaved. They do with DOC because he is a sucker. They were perfect.  They leave tomorrow.  IT will be a better day!  LOVE the pictures. Anne
