The Media Was "Surprised" That Mitt Romney Suspended His Campaign ?

In theory, you can't purchase the office of the President of the United States of America. Mitt Romney lent a little more credibility to that thought today when he folded his political tent and suspended his campaign. In effect, he has not quit the campaign and still retains his delegates for possible future use. Nevertheless, with over $35 million of his own money invested in his campaign, Romney is out.

To hear the media tell it, especially CNN, it was a "political bombshell". Uh, excuse me, there was no mathematical way he could get the nomination. Duh ! Then, again, the media makes its' money by taking an obvious next step or in inane, trite subject and blowing it out of proportion.

Every candidate keeps sidestepping the issue of enforcing our borders. That is basically because they are whores (or as "Podium Al" Sharpton would say "ho's"). They will not tell you what they will or will not actually do about any issue until they are safely elected or rejected.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the tornadoes that wrought havoc to the South, especially Alabama and Tennessee. The destruction caused by the tornadoes was the worst in twenty years. One of the miracle survivors of the storm was a small baby boy that was found uninjured in a field.

The Pictures: Carnival and Mardi Gras, trucks with cool paint jobs, puppies and kittens are included in today's pics. The proverbial partridge in a pear tree could not be located. There's always a few ofmy little oddballs strewn into the mix, just to keep you on your toes.

This Date In History: 1884; The last sanctioned bare-knuckle fight is fought in Mississippi City, Mississippi. John L. Sullivan retains his heavyweight crown by defeating Jake Kilrain. 1904; A blaze sweeps through the business district of Baltimore, Maryland, destroying 80 city blocks before it is extinguished. The Great Baltimore Fire burned for 30 hours. 1964; The British rock group, the Beatles, arrives at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to begin their first United States tour. 1974; Grenada becomes independent of the British Commonwealth. 1984; Bruce McCandless tests the jet propelled manned maneuvering unit outside the space shuttle Challenger, performing the first non-tethered space walk in NASA history.

Birthdays: John Deere, inventor (1804), Charles Dickens, English novelist (1812), Frederick Douglas, antislavery leader (1817), Laura Ingals Wilder, American writer, famous for her "Little House" books (1867), Sinclair Lewis, novelist (1885).

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: The following was sent to me by My Perfect Martini and I think you'll enjoy it.

A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

The word "house", for instance,is feminine, (la casa). The word "pencil", however,is masculine, (el lapiz).

A student asked,"What gender is 'computer'?" Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether 'computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that "computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender (la computadora), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic.

2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.

<FONTFACE="COMIC size="4" MS? Sans>3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval.

4.As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

(THIS  GETS  BETTER !)

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine (el computador), because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves.

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they are the problem.

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won.

That's it for today my little sweet peas. More tomorrow.

Stay Tuned !

Love the comparision on the gender of the computer. I'm keeping the families of those who were lost in the tornadoes in my prayers on the smoke. (Hugs) Indigo

Love the computer comparision.  Did you know there's a journal just for jokes now? You can find it at; http://journals.aol.co.uk/jeanno43/Make-em-laugh/   They just ask that we keep it clean and respectful of all people.  That one picture of the little orange & white kitten with the matching bunny is so cute.  I was sad about Mitt dropping out.  I don't know if he would have made a good Pres. But  he seems to be a good man. Linda in Washington state
