A very special Happy Valentine's Day to all ! Today's entry, however, is dedicated to the fairer sex, the ladies, the mothers, the sisters, the grandmothers, the special women who are all a part of everyone's life. Although today is a day for lovers, it all starts and ends with the fairer sex.
My pal, Indigo, who writes the journal, Raven's Lament (which can be read by accessing the link on my sidebar) made a statement recently which I found profound. Simply stated, she wondered aloud why people wait 364 days each year to express their special affections for each other. Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?
In somewhat of a Valentine's Day gift, President Georgie signed the tax stimulus package yesterday, so look for your rebates between May and June.
They raced at Daytona International Speedway this afternoon in the Nascar Sprint Cup 125 mile qualifying races. The first race was won by Budweiser Shootout winner Dale Earnhart Jr. An exciting race in which Kenny Wallace and Brian Vickers qualified for Sunday's Daytona 500. Former 500 winners Bill Elliot and Sterling Marlin failed to qualify.
In the second 125 qualifying race, Denny Hamlin edged out Tony Stewart in a close finish. John Andretti and former Daytona 500 winner Dale Jarrett filled the last two qualifying positions.
So the stage is set for Sunday's Daytona 500 which will be televised on FOX at 2:00 pm (EST). If you never watched Nascar racing, tune in Sunday for the "Super Bowl" of auto racing from Dayona Beach, Florida.

The Hits Just Keep On Coming:
A Historical Fact: According to archaeologists, for millions of years Neanderthal man was not fully erect. That's pretty easy to understand considering how ugly Neanderthal women were.
A group of student psychiatrists were attending their first seminar on emotional extremes.
"Just to establish some parameters, said the leader, "Mr. Nichols, what is the opposite of joy?" Mr. Nichols relied, "Sadness."
The leader then asked, "Ms. Johnson, what is the opposite of depression?" Ms. Johnson answered, "Elation."
The leader then turned to Mr. Warren, who was busy chatting with the young female student beside him, and said, "Mr. Warren, what is the opposite of woe?" Mr. Warren, without missing a beat, said, " I believe that would be giddyup !"
That's it for today my special little Valentines. More tomorrow.

AS usual, I am amused by your pictures. AND thanks for the Valentine, at my age, I truely appreciate them more than my younger years. The other thing that "hit" me was Gregory Hines birthay. I adored him. Did you ever see the movie called, White Knights (Nights?) He and Barichnacoff, (sp?) starred in it and it was one of my favorite movies. He was so very talented. Anne
It is tough being a saint , the union states that you have to be brutally murdered for your believes
While I appreciate your nod to my gender, Jimmy, I can't totally agree with you. It's every bit as much about our guys, too. I've had many wonderful men in my life, from my Dad to my cousins to my brothers-in-law to friends, but especially my better half. I salute every guy who has ever been my knight in shining armor, or at the very least, a true friend and gentleman. Here's to ya, gents!
