Monday is always the necessary beginning point of our weekly trek towards Friday. Normally, I would characterize this day as mundane, but this Monday is marvelous because it is a holiday and for most of us, a three day weekend.
The nominees for the Cat's Ass Trophy (CAT) award were Heather Mills McCartney, nominated by Beth and the government of Aruba, nominated by myself.
Mills-McCartney, the gold digging, soon to be ex-wife of Beatles legend Paul McCartney has been in the news recently with her crying, conniving tactics employed in her negotiations for a settlement with Paul McCartney. After being offered 50 million dollars (she wants 100 million), she has employed herself as her own attorney, obviously forgetting the age old adage, that a person that represents him/herself has a fool for a client.
The government of Aruba, whose blase and half-hearted investigation into the murder of Natalee Holloway, has decided, despite a taped confession of suspectJoran van der Sloot, that there is not enough evidence to re-arrest him. Go figure !
After considering the nominees and taking into the consideration the opinions posted in your comments, the hands down winner of the Cat's Ass Trophy is Heather Mills McCartney. Congratulations Heather, you 'da winner !
The 50th Daytona 500 was run yesterday and it was an exciting race. It went down to the last lap with Ryan "The Rocket" Newman winning the race followed by Curt Busch, whose key bump draft down the backstretch allowed to Newman to surge to the win. Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch and Reed Sorenson, finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Kyle, the younger of the Busch brothers was the class of the field, but a late move in the last lap stymied his run.
On a sad note, Luke the Wonder Dog, beloved pet of Anne, author of the journal, Saturday's Child, passed away yesterday. It just breaks my heart and I know that Anne is very sad. Please stop by her journal, which can be accessed in the link on my sidebar and leave a comment. I'm sure it will lift her spirits. Here's a picture of Luke, the Wonder Dog. Rest In Peace, Luke.
The Pictures: Infinity, a concept difficult to understand and even more difficult to display graphically. Today's pics give you a fantastic idea of what infinity really is. Take a look. I've included some random shots of yesterday's Daytona 500 and a few of my unusual finds this week on the Net.

YOU are a sweetheart Jimmy. Thanks for the Wonder Dog pictures. I love the one where he is wearing a birthday hat. My neighbor took that picture. He WAS a party dog in his younger years. Love you, Anne

Yay, Heather wins the CAT! Can I pick 'em or what?!
Beth
I watched the race only sporadically...I just don't see the point! My husband watched. the. whole. race. Waste of time, if you ask me. Oh, no one asked me ;)
Heather Mills-McCartney...at first I felt sorry for her because the media was trashing her...now she just does that to herself. Sad woman.

I think the Cat Ass award should have been a tie! Either one....they are both terrible!
Hope you have a great week!
Pam
Beth can pick them alright! As for Luke, I cried when I first heard about his passing. Such a beautiful old soul....I know Ann was heartbroken. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and remembering them both. (Hugs) Indigo
