I Just Have Too Many Things To Do !

Things ! I've got things, things that I need to do, things I need to fix, things to wash, things that need to be filed with other things. Do you know something? I've got too many things.

To hell with that ! It's Friday and although I've got a lot of things to deal with, they're going on the back burner and I'm going to Lakes Cafe ! It's called Viernes Social, which means in Spanish, social Friday. Clever, huh?  Actually, it's said in jest and it loses a little in the translation, but suffice to say that if I was in Alabama, we'd be saying, "Yeehaw".

For those of you who have asked about some new pictures of AREA 51,  I took a few Wednesday evening, but since I left my close-up specs at a party at Lydia's house the other day, most of the pictures came out blurry. My intent was to run the pictures today, but......, what can I say? I'll get some more tonight and I'll try to run them Saturday.

I went out again last night to see my friend, Kenny, perform at a place called "Catch of the Day". It was a very nice evening and I got a few pictures there too, but since I'm already behind with "things", I'll have to show them another day, maybe tomorrow.

I've been watching the news in Portimao, Portugal, where a little girl named Madeleine McCann was "kidnapped" a few months ago. Without going into much detail, a much publicized international search ensued and last evening it was leaked that the mother has become a suspect and the father is expected to be named as a suspect today, as well.

With so many tips in so many countries coming in in the last few months, one would think that the "kidnappers" would have been caught by now. The girl's aunt said police have suggested that 4 year old Madeleine may have been killed accidentally and offered her mother a plea deal if she confessed. Shades of John and Patsy Ramsey, indeed. It's a little early to come to any conclusions, but this situation sounded a little weird to me from the git-go !

I'm still working on some new ideas for the Cat's Ass Trophy Award, including utilzing the new poll feature. Hopefully, we'll start using it next week.

The Pictures: I've got some really good pictures for you coming soon. That's one of the "things" I have to do, but I haven't edited them yet. I've entered pictures of little Madeleine McCann and her parents. I also found some snowy others that I think you'll like. I didn't insert the "usual suspects", but then again, maybe I did.

This Date In History: 1822; Brazil declares it's independence from Portugal. 1892; Gentleman Jim Corbett knocks out John L Sullivan (no relation) in the first heavyweight championship bout fought under the Marquess of Queensbury rules, which require the fighters to wear gloves. In a similar incident the same day, my grandfather, James M. Sullivan, was knocked out by his wife after returning from AREA 51 at the local Irish pub. 1977; U.S. President Jimmy Carter and Panamanian leader Omar Trujillos, sign the Panama Canal Treaty, which returns the canal to Panmanian control in 2000. 1979; ESPN, the first all-sports cable network in the United States, begins broadcasting.

Birthdays; Elizabeth I, Queen of England and Ireland, daughter of King Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyne (1533), Grandma Moses, painter (1860), Buddy Holley, rock and roll singer (1936).

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: Are You Old Enough ?

Remember?: Ignition switches on the dashboard, Headlight dimmer switches on the floor?, Catching your pants leg in the chain of your bike because it didn't have a chain guard? Wax shaped Coca Cola bottles that had colored sugar water in them? Diners with tableside juke boxes? Telephones that had prefixes like Tuxedo 68165 and the party lines that came with them? Soda machines that dispensed glass bottles and the two cents you received for returning them? Newsreels before the movie and the weekly serials? S&H Green Stamps? Peashooters? Candy cigarettes? Wax Lips?

Well I don't, but my father told me all about it !

That's it for today, my little pedal pushers. See you tonight at Lakes Cafe and more tomorrow.

Stay Tuned !

haaaaaaaaaaaaa, Your Father told you about them. That is the laugh of the day!  I remember those. I say the wax lips would be an improvement over the cosmetic treatments of today.  I am lucky. One of the few things I love about myself are my lips!  I didn't hear that about the little girl who was kidnapped.  God, I hope they catch the right person/people.  I still do NOT believe the Ramseys had anything to do with the kidnapping of Jon Bonnet.     Have a great weekend. We have 2 birthdays to celebrate.......grandson and son.     CHEERS!    ANNE

I will be just heartbroken if they say the mother did it.  How could that happen.  I know it does but how could it happen.  Cats ass trophy has to go to President Bush for opening our Mexican boarders to truckers.  What was the man thinking.  He gets A's on the war, F's on immigration.

I think there's something fishy about this little missing girl. It's just too weird.
Hope you have a great time tonight. Be careful, and have a drink for me!

How can 2 people who have doctorate degrees as well as being parents, be stupid enough to leave a child that young alone. Yes, this did sound fishy from the get-go. Loved the picture of the Falls! (Hugs) Indigo
